UP Makes Senior Officers' Presence Mandatory In Online Meetings

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has made it mandatory for senior officers to participate in online review meetings.

The decision was made under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with the goal of promoting accountable, disciplined, and result-oriented governance.

Director of Education (Basic) Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi has issued instructions to all Assistant Directors of Education (Basic) and District Basic Education Officers, stating that their presence is required in every online review meeting conducted by the Directorate.

The move comes after it was observed that the expected level of participation from several districts had not been met during important online review meetings.

In many cases, District Basic Education Officers did not attend the meetings, and there was no authorized senior officer present.

To address this issue, a clear system has been implemented, requiring all officers to participate in meetings through their official email IDs to verify their identities and make the review process more transparent and effective.

According to the new instructions, the Assistant Director of Education (Basic) at the divisional level and the District Basic Education Officer at the district level must personally participate in every online review meeting.

If they are unable to attend due to official reasons, they must authorize a senior subordinate officer to attend on their behalf.

The instructions also state that joining a meeting from the same district or division through multiple devices and separate login IDs will not be permitted.

Instead, all officers must sit together at one location and participate in the meeting through a single authorized login ID.

This will help eliminate technical issues and make the review process more systematic.

The Basic Education Department believes that the mandatory presence of senior officers will improve the quality of review meetings, ensure timely implementation of decisions, and accelerate the monitoring and execution of schemes in line with the government's priorities.

The new system is expected to promote accountability and transparency in the department's operations.

With this move, the UP government aims to further strengthen its commitment to providing quality education and effective governance.
