MP TET 2026 Deadline Extended To September 18

The application deadline for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in Madhya Pradesh has been extended to September 18. This decision was made after only around 2,500 of the nearly 1.5 lakh eligible teachers had applied by Thursday, prompting discussions between the School Education Department and the Employees Selection Board (ESB).

The ESB issued a notification announcing the extension, allowing teachers to apply for the TET until September 18. Additionally, teachers will be able to make corrections to their applications until September 20.

The TET is being conducted for the first time in Madhya Pradesh for in-service teachers, following a Supreme Court order in May 2026. The order directed that primary and secondary teachers appointed between 1998 and 2009 must clear the Teacher Eligibility Test.

The application process began on August 21, but teachers' associations had demanded that candidates be allowed to take the examination offline, citing that many in-service teachers were not comfortable using computers. After discussions between the School Education Department and the ESB, it was decided to provide an offline examination option.

Teachers' associations have also opposed the Rs 1,000 examination fee, arguing that since the TET is being conducted in compliance with a Supreme Court order, the state government should bear the examination cost. However, no final decision has yet been taken on the demand for fee relief.

The extension of the deadline and the addition of an offline examination option are expected to increase the number of applicants for the TET. The School Education Department and the ESB are working together to ensure that the examination is conducted smoothly and that all eligible teachers have the opportunity to apply.

The TET is an important step towards ensuring that teachers in Madhya Pradesh meet the required standards of eligibility. The examination will test the knowledge and skills of teachers, and those who clear the test will be eligible to continue teaching.

The decision to extend the deadline and provide an offline examination option is a positive step towards increasing the participation of teachers in the TET. It is expected that more teachers will apply for the examination now that the deadline has been extended and an offline option is available.

In conclusion, the extension of the MP TET 2026 deadline to September 18 and the addition of an offline examination option are significant developments in the education sector in Madhya Pradesh. These decisions are expected to have a positive impact on the participation of teachers in the TET and the overall quality of education in the state.

The Madhya Pradesh government's efforts to ensure that all eligible teachers have the opportunity to apply for the TET are commendable. The provision of an offline examination option and the extension of the deadline demonstrate the government's commitment to making the examination accessible to all teachers.

Overall, the MP TET 2026 is an important examination that will play a crucial role in ensuring that teachers in Madhya Pradesh meet the required standards of eligibility. The extension of the deadline and the addition of an offline examination option are positive steps towards achieving this goal.
