UP Launches Month-Long Power Maintenance Drive

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a month-long power maintenance drive to ensure a robust and reliable electricity supply system in the state ahead of the upcoming festive season.

The drive, which will be observed from September 15 to October 14, 2026, aims to rectify deficiencies in the distribution system that emerged during the summer and monsoon seasons.

During the drive, all 33/11 kV substations, power transformers, and distribution transformers will undergo thorough inspection, cleaning, and repair.

The root cause of recurring faults will be identified and a permanent solution implemented. Worn-out wires, loose connections, and damaged equipment will be replaced, and standard protective wires will be installed.

Extensive pruning of tree branches growing around power lines will also be undertaken to prevent disruptions in power supply during storms.

The UPPCL Chairman has directed all divisions to prepare area-wise action plans by September 10 and ensure advance arrangement of the required materials.

Efforts will be made to avoid power shutdowns during festival days, and any shutdowns will be planned in a manner that minimizes inconvenience to consumers.
