Dubai Student Tops NEET UG Re-Exam Outside India
Sankalp Sandeep Naik secures 99.9253 percentile, aims to become neurosurgeon. He took JEE to experience exam pressure.

A remarkable feat has been achieved by Sankalp Sandeep Naik, an 18-year-old student from Dubai, who has topped the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 outside India. Just a few months prior to this achievement, Sankalp appeared for the JEE Main 2026, not with the intention of pursuing engineering, but to understand the pressure of a national-level entrance examination.
Sankalp, who has lived in Dubai since he was one year old, attempted only Physics and Chemistry in the JEE Main, securing an 88 percentile. He intentionally skipped Mathematics as it was not a part of his curriculum, and engineering was not an option for him. The experience of taking the JEE examination gave him the confidence to prepare for the NEET UG Re-Exam.
After the JEE examination, Sankalp shifted his focus to medicine, studying six to seven hours a day. He later intensified his preparation for the re-examination, which paid off as he secured 650 marks out of 720, a 99.9253 percentile, and an All India Rank (AIR) of 1398.
Currently studying at JSS Private School in Dubai, Sankalp hopes to pursue MBBS at AIIMS Nagpur, with the ultimate goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. He recalled the emotional setback he faced when he learned that the NEET UG examination would have to be conducted again. However, with the support of his family, he regained focus and started preparing again.
Sankalp credited his family for helping him during the difficult phase of his preparation. His mother constantly reassured him that repeating one more month of preparation was possible, while his father took leave from work to support him. His elder brother also adjusted his routine to allow Sankalp to study late into the night.
Sankalp's preparation strategy changed significantly after the first NEET examination. Initially, he spent most of his time reading theory, but during the re-exam preparation, his focus shifted towards solving difficult questions. This change in strategy, combined with his hard work and determination, ultimately led to his success in the NEET UG Re-Exam.
The NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 was a challenging experience for many students, but Sankalp's story serves as an inspiration to those who are preparing for competitive examinations. His achievement is a testament to the importance of perseverance, hard work, and the right guidance.
Sankalp's success has also highlighted the potential of students from outside India to excel in competitive examinations. His achievement will likely motivate other students from abroad to prepare for and take the NEET UG examination.
In conclusion, Sankalp Sandeep Naik's achievement is a remarkable one, and his story serves as an inspiration to students everywhere. His determination, hard work, and the support of his family have enabled him to achieve his goal, and he is now one step closer to realizing his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon.
The significance of Sankalp's achievement extends beyond his personal success. It highlights the importance of education and the opportunities that are available to students from around the world. His story will likely motivate other students to pursue their dreams, regardless of their location or background.
