UP Women Get Free Bus Travel for Raksha Bandhan

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a special gift for the women of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. From August 27 to August 29, women will be able to travel for free in Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and city buses.

This offer will be valid from 6 am on August 27 until midnight on August 29. Female passengers will also be allowed to travel with one companion free of cost in Corporation buses.

To mark the occasion, the CM launched the ‘Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra’ and flagged off special buses. Women above 60 years of age will travel free of cost on these buses.

At a program organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the Chief Minister flagged off the special buses and interacted with the women traveling on them. He also took selfies with the women and presented them with gifts, including smart cards, bags, sarees, and sweets.

The CM also extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to everyone and enquired about the well-being of the women. The women who received gifts from the CM included Rajrani, Ganesh Devi, Kalawati, Mithana, Prabhudei, Shammi, Shanti Devi, Manjulata, Shivkali, Draupadi, and Meera.
