Hyena Suspected in Mandsaur Goat Attack

A suspected hyena attack in Hasli village, Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh, has left six goats dead and four injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when a wild animal attacked goats tied in a cattle enclosure.

Farmer Nain Singh Gurjar discovered the dead and injured goats when he reached the enclosure in the morning. He immediately informed the police and forest department about the incident.

Police from the Nai Abadi police station prepared a 'panchnama' at the spot, while a forest department team inspected the site and searched for signs of the animal. Although no clear footprints were found, forest ranger Narendra Malviya said the attack appeared to have been carried out by a large wild animal.

According to the forest department, hyenas have been spotted in the area, and the presence of a leopard has not been confirmed. Officials suspect a hyena attack due to the fact that two goats were carried away from the scene.

Generally, leopards eat their prey at the attack site, whereas hyenas may carry prey away. The forest department has increased surveillance in the area to prevent further attacks.
