6 Pilgrims Die in Haryana Road Crash

A tragic accident occurred on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana's Palwal on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of six pilgrims and injuring 14 others. The accident happened at around 4:30 am when a pick-up vehicle carrying the pilgrims rammed into a stationary truck.

The pilgrims were returning from Rajasthan after visiting the Khatu Shyam temple and other shrines in the state, and were headed to Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. According to preliminary investigations, the driver of the pick-up vehicle fell asleep at the wheel, causing the incident.

The driver fled the scene after the accident, and efforts are underway to trace him. Among the six deceased, three were women. The victims have been identified as Vijay (75), Rajkumar (40), Reshma (45), Kamala (65), Sudha (52), and Mahesh (60).

The injured were rushed to a hospital in Palwal for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem. The victims hailed from Mainpuri district in Uttar Pradesh.
