RWF Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Enthusiasm

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at the Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) with great enthusiasm. Manoranjan Pradhan, General Manager of RWF, hoisted the Tricolour National Flag and addressed the gathering.

Pradhan reminded the audience of the importance of remembering the great souls who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom and the values of patriotism, unity in diversity, and the nation-first mindset.

During his address, Pradhan shared the achievements of RWF in the financial year 2025-26, including the manufacture of 2,10,026 wheels, 1,22,000 axles, and 1,20,100 wheelsets, and the dispatch of 1,16,561 wheelsets, which is the highest ever in the history of RWF.

In the current financial year, RWF has placed 48.29% of purchase orders on Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), boosting the priority sector. The factory has also completed major projects, including the Third Axle Machining Line, which has increased axle production capacity.

Renovation works are being carried out inside the factory premises, including the construction of storage sheds and sleeper flooring. New quarters have been constructed for staff, and infrastructure and facilities in the Railway Hospital have been upgraded and renovated.

RWF has continued to focus on energy conservation, water management, and sustainable manufacturing. The factory has commissioned three rainwater harvesting ponds, developed non-asbestos gaskets, and introduced eco-friendly coir-based packaging for wheelsets.

Pradhan concluded his address by emphasizing the importance of committing to duties towards building a stronger, self-reliant, and ever-progressing India.

The celebrations included a march past by the Railway Protection Force, NCC boys and girls, Bharat Scouts and Guides, followed by a cultural programme presented by employees and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya.

After the programme, Smt. Priya Pradhan, President of RWF Women's Welfare Organization, visited the Railway Hospital, distributed fruits, and wished patients a speedy recovery.

The Independence Day celebrations at RWF were a testament to the factory's commitment to patriotism and nation-building.
