John Abraham

Modern 2003–present

John Abraham is a Hindi-cinema actor and film producer who began as a model before making his acting debut in the 2003 erotic thriller Jism. He broke through as the villain Kabir in the blockbuster Dhoom (2004) and went on to build a career defined by action roles and a muscular screen image, in films such as Dostana, Force and Pathaan. He is also known for backing and starring in socially and politically themed films including New York, Madras Cafe, Parmanu and Batla House. Through his production banner he has championed content-driven cinema, most notably his maiden production Vicky Donor.

Honours: National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment (as producer of Vicky Donor, 60th National Film Awards); multiple Filmfare Award nominations.
