Karisma Kapoor

Modern 1991–present

Karisma Kapoor is a Hindi film actress born into the Kapoor film dynasty as the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, granddaughter of Raj Kapoor, and elder sister of Kareena Kapoor. She debuted in 1991 with Prem Qaidi and became one of the leading actresses of Hindi cinema through the 1990s and early 2000s, headlining major commercial hits alongside critically praised dramatic roles. Widely regarded as one of the era's finest dancers, she moved fluidly between mass entertainers like Raja Hindustani and Biwi No. 1 and serious films such as Fiza and Zubeidaa. She largely stepped back from full-time acting in the mid-2000s and has since returned intermittently through films and streaming projects.

Honours: National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Dil To Pagal Hai (1997); four Filmfare Awards, including Best Actress for Raja Hindustani and Fiza, Best Supporting Actress for Dil To Pagal Hai, and Best Actress (Critics) for Zubeidaa
