13 TCS Employees Rescued in Panvel Trek Mishap

A group of 13 employees from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were rescued by the Panvel Taluka Police on Saturday after they lost their way during a trek between Irshalgad and Prabalgad in Panvel.

The group had set out for the trek on Saturday morning and reached the Irshalgad fort, but lost their way while descending in the evening. With darkness setting in and mobile connectivity becoming unreliable, they contacted the 112 emergency helpline for assistance.

Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Ghadge of Panvel Taluka Police Station led the rescue operation, which included personnel from the police station, local guides, and volunteers from Nisarg Mitra Panvel and Help Foundation.

Despite the challenging terrain and poor visibility, the rescue team located all 13 trekkers at around 10:30 pm and safely escorted them down the hill without any injuries. The rescued group included employees from various locations in Mumbai, including Juinagar, Vashi, Kamothe, Nerul, Sanpada, Bhandup, and Lower Parel.

The Panvel Police have advised trekkers to take necessary precautions while trekking during the monsoon, including checking weather forecasts, avoiding trekking after dusk, and taking the assistance of experienced local guides.
