PM Modi Receives Rare Welcome In Jakarta

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rare ceremonial welcome in Jakarta on Tuesday as he began his official visit to Indonesia. PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and said he was touched by President Subianto's gesture of personally receiving him at the airport.

PM Modi stated that he is confident that their discussions would further strengthen bilateral ties. He mentioned that in 2018, India and Indonesia elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has benefited the people of both countries. During this visit, PM Modi and President Subianto will hold discussions aimed at adding momentum to this partnership across diverse sectors.

The India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is expected to focus on key areas such as trade, investment, and defense cooperation. The partnership aims to promote economic growth, enhance security cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
