6 Tribal Children Die in Balaghat, MP Amid Infections

At least six tribal children have died in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh due to multiple infections, with symptoms resembling malaria and contagious scabies. The deaths occurred in four tribal-dominated villages between June 26 and August 6.

The affected villages are predominantly inhabited by members of the Baiga tribe. The children who died were aged between one and 14. Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh has claimed that 11 children had died and has demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families who lost their children.
