Uttarakhand Media Delegation Visits Hyderabad

A 15-member media delegation from Uttarakhand is on a five-day study tour to Hyderabad, starting from 31 August 2026. The tour, organised by PIB Dehradun under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, is led by Shri Sanjeev Sundriyal, Assistant Director, Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun.

The primary objective of the tour is to provide journalists with first-hand information about major developmental activities and initiatives of the Central Government in Telangana. On the first day, the delegation visited the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, where they interacted with Smt. Shruti Patil, Additional Director General, PIB Hyderabad, and other officials.

During the interaction, Smt. Shruti Patil briefed the delegation about the evolving media landscape in Telangana and the communication and outreach programmes being undertaken by PIB and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC). She emphasized the importance of such press tours in promoting development-oriented journalism and urged the journalists to share their experiences with the people of Uttarakhand.

The media delegation also visited the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), where they were given a detailed briefing on India’s ocean monitoring capabilities, tsunami warning system, forecasting, and technologies used for issuing disaster alerts.

In the coming days, the delegation will visit the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and an Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital. These visits will provide an opportunity to understand nutrition research, public health initiatives, and healthcare services being provided under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme.

The delegation also visited a handloom exhibition organised in Hyderabad, featuring stalls displaying a wide variety of handicraft products prepared by artisans, weavers, and artists from different states across the country. As part of the cultural experience, the delegation will visit the Salar Jung Museum, Charminar, and Laad Bazaar, providing an opportunity to explore Hyderabad’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

The study tour aims to provide journalists with an understanding of the major developmental initiatives of the Central Government in Telangana, while also familiarising them with Hyderabad’s rich historical and cultural heritage. This tour is expected to enhance awareness about Telangana and promote development-oriented journalism in Uttarakhand.

The visit to various institutions and exhibitions will provide the journalists with a comprehensive understanding of the Central Government's initiatives in Telangana. The delegation's interactions with officials and experts will also help them gain insights into the implementation of these initiatives.

Overall, the study tour is a significant step towards promoting development-oriented journalism and enhancing awareness about the Central Government's initiatives in Telangana. The journalists will return to Uttarakhand with a deeper understanding of the major developmental activities and initiatives in Telangana, which will help them inform and educate the people of Uttarakhand.

The tour will conclude on 4 September 2026, and the delegation is expected to share their experiences and findings with the people of Uttarakhand, thereby promoting development-oriented journalism and enhancing awareness about Telangana.
