CM Announces Hospital, Memorial At Union Carbide Site
Bhopal to get new hospital and memorial, industrial park to generate 15,000 jobs
In a significant announcement, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav revealed that the Madhya Pradesh government will construct a hospital and a memorial at the site of the former Union Carbide factory in Bhopal. This move is seen as a tribute to the victims of the devastating Bhopal gas tragedy.
The Chief Minister made this announcement while laying the foundation stone for the Satgarhi Smart Industrial Park in Kolar. According to him, this project will not only emerge as a major industrial hub for the state but also redefine Bhopal's identity beyond its reputation as the City of Lakes.
Yadav also announced plans to build a modern convention centre with a seating capacity of 10,000 people, which will be the largest in Madhya Pradesh. The Sagar Group, led by chairman Sudhir Agrawal, will invest Rs 100 crore in this project. The industrial park is expected to create employment opportunities for over 15,000 people and will provide new avenues for cotton-producing farmers.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Bhopal is steadily transitioning into an industrial city, and this project will play a crucial role in the state's economic growth. He highlighted the state's investment drive, mentioning that proposals worth Rs 30 lakh crore were received during the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, with investments worth Rs 10 lakh crore already being realized.
Under the 'Kisan Kalyan Varsh' initiative, memorandums of understanding worth Rs 86,000 crore have been signed with investors since January. The Chief Minister noted that countries such as the US, Japan, Britain, Canada, and South Korea are investing in Madhya Pradesh, thanks to improvements in road, power, and water infrastructure.
MLA Rameshwar Sharma expressed his belief that the Satgarhi Industrial Park and convention centre will become a new landmark for Bhopal. Principal Secretary Raghvendra Singh revealed that a Chinese company will soon announce an investment in Pithampur. Minister Krishna Gaur credited the Chief Minister's leadership for the state's all-round development.
