Bharat Taxi Launches in Pune with Fixed Fares, No Surge Pricing

A new government-backed app-based taxi service, Bharat Taxi, has been launched in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The service promises to offer fixed fares, faster bookings, and an end to surge pricing.

The Ministry of Cooperation introduced the service, which follows Regional Transport Office (RTO)-approved fare rates. Bharat Taxi has also entered the intercity travel segment, with the Pune-Mumbai route launched first. Services to Nashik, Solapur, and Kolhapur are expected to begin in the coming months.
