KPSC Scam: Man Alleges ₹26 Lakh 'Job For Money' Fraud

A fresh scam has come to light in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), with a man from Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural District alleging that he was duped of ₹26 lakh in a 'job for money' scam.

The man, G K Raghunandan, has lodged a complaint at the Vidhana Soudha police station against four persons - Santhosh Hosamani, Nandish Rao, Basavaraj, and Mahesh - who claimed to be middlemen between KPSC higher-ups and him.

According to the complaint, Santhosh Hosamani introduced himself as an employee of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) in Vidhana Soudha and claimed to know the head of KPSC. He promised to get Raghunandan appointed as a Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) through KPSC if he paid ₹26 lakh.

Raghunandan was asked to pay ₹20 lakh in advance, which he did by pledging his family's gold and raising a loan from his friends. The payment was made through Nandish. However, when he did not receive the promised appointment order for months, the middlemen came up with excuses, including technical reasons for the delay.

Later, Basavaraj made a WhatsApp call from KPSC, assuring Raghunandan that his application was on track and he would soon receive his appointment order. But when Raghunandan saw the discrepancies in the KPSC, including the suspension of the Chairman and a scam related to Veterinary doctors' appointments, he approached the Vidhana Soudha police and lodged a complaint.

The KPSC has been embroiled in several controversies in the past, including the suspension of its Chairman. This fresh scam has raised questions about the transparency and accountability of the commission.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many expressing concern about the fate of young people who are seeking jobs through the KPSC. The police are investigating the complaint and have not made any arrests yet.
